About Dr. Hanif Jamal, MD, CCFP, FCFP

Photo of Hanif JamalDr. Hanif Jamal is medical director of Canada for Teladoc Health. With extensive experience in primary medicine and complex continuing care, he provides clinical oversight for the company’s care delivery and quality infrastructure across the country

His career includes a dedication to healthcare innovation through virtual care. Dr. Jamal has developed and implemented telemedicine programs at several premier healthcare organizations, including Iasis Health Management and Advica Health. In addition to his work with Teladoc Health, Dr. Jamal currently serves as Virtual Care Executive Member and staff hospitalist at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. His contributions to quality care also extend to an academic appointment as Assistant Clinical Professor at McMaster University Department of Family Medicine, well as Peer-Review Auditor at the College of Physician and Surgeons of Ontario.

Dr. Jamal completed his residency and earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from McMaster University. He also participated in the Harvard Macy Scholar Program on Leading Innovations in Health Care & Education, from the Harvard School of Business and Harvard Medical Joint Program.

Mr. Trencher brings a breadth of experience in the healthcare industry, including hands-on product and operational expertise from a wide array of healthcare customer segments. Prior to Teladoc Health, Mr. Trencher held leadership roles at WellPoint (now Anthem, Inc.) and WellChoice, Inc., developing and managing growth initiatives across the healthcare value chain, ranging from providers to disease management and wellness programs to health information technology.

Mr. Trencher holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago.
